Frequently asked
Common questions, honestly answered.
You're exactly who Smartphone Basics (Workshop 01) was built for. We start at the very beginning — turning the phone on, holding it without panic, finding the home screen. There's no skill assumed, ever.
Always bring your own. The whole point is that you walk out comfortable with your device, with your apps and your family in the contacts. iPhone, Android, iPad — bring whatever you actually use.
Each 90-minute workshop is $45. The four-workshop bundle is $160 (a $20 saving). We also run free and reduced-fee sessions through senior centers and faith communities — please ask, no awkwardness on either side.
Yes — and we love doing this. We tailor the topic to the group, bring everything we need, and offer reduced rates for nonprofit groups and faith communities. Send us a note with your group size and which topic interests you.
Life happens. Cancel up to 48 hours before the workshop for a full refund or a free transfer to any future date. After that we'll do our best to reschedule you, no charge.
This is the most important promise we make: the class moves at the pace of the room. If something needs three explanations, it gets three explanations. If it needs ten, it gets ten. Every workshop also includes a follow-up phone call so the question you only thought of later still gets answered.
Yes. Private sessions are $90 for 60 minutes, in-person within Polk County. Many people like to start with one private session to feel ready, then join a group workshop. Just say the word in your message.
They could! And many of our students still call them with the fun stuff. But there's a particular kind of learning that's hard to do with someone who loves you and is also impatient — and easy to do with a calm, prepared instructor and a roomful of people in the same boat. That's our whole thing.
